The "Free Grace Gospel" is the Good News of God's gracious free gift of everlasting life, available to all who simply receive it by faith alone in Christ alone, plus not one thing [Not a single work of the Law or any man made rule is necessary for salvation]. Many wonder, "Is this something new? A new Gospel?" NO! Not at all! It's the same good news of God's grace salvation that both Jesus and His Apostles taught in the Scriptures. It was preached by many throughout the ages. It was revitalized by some of the earliest reformers in the 16th century, brought to America in the 17th, spread broadly throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, and has seen a revival and clarification in the 20th century. This "Free Grace Movement" is a true movement of the Spirit that continues to spread widely.

You may have heard the term "Free Grace", but were told it refers to "cheap grace" or "easy believism". These are a derogatory terms used by the opponents of free grace. The charge of "easy-believism" is a straw man argument for no such thing actually exists. No one argues that believing in Jesus for everlasting life is easy. Some shamefully say this glorious gospel of the blessed God is somehow diminished if it is offered freely without cost to the recipient, apart from additional conditions. First of all, God's grace is never cheap, as if it was inexpensive to purchase. No, it is "Absolutely Free" to you and to all. God offers eternal life as a gift, without any cost to you, for Jesus paid it all! His death made it possible for Him to say, "Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely" (Rev. 22:17). Nor is it "easy to believe". It's simply, "simple to believe". Simple enough for a child to believe it. Jesus said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life" (Jn. 6:47). Nothing could be any clearer or simpler than this -- Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for everlasting life and you shall be saved from eternal punishment and death. And this is a salvation that can never be lost. God the Father has made His eternal Plan of salvation available to all people through the Person of Jesus and made possible by His Provision for the forgiveness of sins, but only if those who are perishing are willing to accept the Promise -- "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

Free Grace - The "Free Grace Gospel" is God's free offer of eternal salvation through "faith alone in Christ alone, plus not one thing!" By simply believing in Jesus the sinners is guaranted never to die spiritually. That's "Good News!" With a single look at the Son of Man who was lifted up on the cross for us all or with one drink of the living water, you can receive everlasting life immediately and permanently which can never be lost or undone. The planting of the seed of life is instantaneous. A seed that will never die. But the Good News does not end there. There is even more Good News to be heard.

Costly Growth - It is essential in order to avoid confusion, the gift of eternal salvation is to be properly correlated with and yet distinguished from issues related to discipleship, i.e.: "following Jesus; giving, committing or surrendering one's life to Christ" - "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me" (Mark 8:34). This directive by Jesus was given to Peter and the rest of His disciples after they had already proclaimed that Jesus was the Christ (8:29). Jesus is not giving His disciples something else to do in order to receive eternal life. This is what all believers need to do in order to become a disciple of Christ, so that they may grow up and have the opportunity to receive the crown of life, the abundant life, eternal life lived to its fullest.
WHAT IS THE FREE GRACE GOSPEL?
Free means it's "without charge" or "at no cost". God the Father is able to provide eternal salvation from eternal death at no cost to humanity because His Son paid it all! He paid the full price of our redemption--the price paid to free us from sin's penalty, power, and presence. Therefore it's, "on the house", so to speak. The gift of eternal life is offered to all sinners free of charge. Sinners are "justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus" (Rom. 3:24).

This right standing before God, called justification, is made available to all sinners, and yes, all have sinned. In order for the sinner to receive the benefits of the Son's payment for sin, is to simply receive it as a free gift by faith alone in Christ alone, plus not one thing. The righteousness of God is received "through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe" (3:22). Paul, "concludes that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law" (3:28). In other words, you can't buy eternal salvation with good works, not even a lifetime of commitment or surrender to His will, nor repeated promises to follow Him, or promises to give your whole life to Christ. The only true promise keeper is Christ Himself. Believe His promise for everlasting life given freely and you will be saved.

Grace means a gift freely given. Grace has been traditionally defined as God's unmerited favor given to undeserving sinners. Mercy, a closely related term, is  the gift of the sinner not receiving what he does deserve, the penalty of sin--eternal death. Therefore, through one man's (Adam) offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's (Jesus) righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life (Rom 5:18-19). "God's Riches At Christ's Expense".

Doesn't "grace" itself means a gift that is free? Isn't this redundant? Yes, exactly! Are not all gifts inherently free? Of course! This appears obvious, but not to everyone. Many proclaim that "grace" is costly, very costly, in fact, it will cost you everything, your whole life. This is why the redundancy--to emphasis the freeness of God's grace. The sinner comes to Christ to receive life, not to give his life to Christ. Once life is recieved only then can the believer give his life to Christ.

Have you ever heard the phrase, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't?" Well, with regard to the gift of eternal life it just doesn't sound good, it is "Good News!, because it's free. It's "Good News" because God is good and He cannot lie
.

Gospel means simply "good news". The "Free Grace Gospel" is really good news because God's free gift of eternal life is available to all who will receive it, without cost, again because Jesus paid it all. The FGG is also the Gospel of Grace which Apostle Paul preached (Acts 20:24). It is to be distinguished from the "Gospel of the Kingdom". The "Gospel" most often refers to the "Good News" about Jesus Christ--His Person (He is the God/Man), and His Provision (His death and resurrection). His person and provision are the basis by which Jesus is able to Promise to give the free gift of everlasting life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ contains the content of what the sinner needs to know in order for him or her to trust in Jesus--He has the credentials and credibility to offer everlasting life in His name. The intended result of believing in the "Gospel of Jesus Christ" is that sinners believe in Jesus for everlasting life and that the new believer would then now live for Christ.

SALVATION

FREE GRACE
VERSUS
COSTLY GRACE

FALSE ACCUSATIONS
Exceeding Glory is the ultimate goal of all our pursuits, to be partakers of the glory that is going to be revealed (1 Peter 5:1). Exceeding glory comes at the end of one's earthly live to those who have endured the long difficult process of discipleship. It is a prize above and beyond what we can even imagine. As Peter put it, God the Father according to His abundant mercy (Free Grace) has begotten us again (by the means of our faith in Christ alone) to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (1:3). And after we have suffered a little while, grieved by various trials, we who were partakers in Christ suffering (Costly Growth), are those who will receive, in addition to eternal "zoe" life, an abundant life which will include praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ. What is received at the end of our faith's journey for those who have suffered with Christ, by taking up their cross and following Him, is the salvation of our "psuche" souls (1:3-9). At that time the Lord will say to the partakers, "Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord" (Matt. 25:23).
You see, the unbeliever first comes to Christ by faith alone, receiving the gift of everlasting life. Only then is this new believer now asked to abide or remain in Christ, "Jesus said to those who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (Jn. 8:31). The growth of the seed of life is a gradual, costly, and difficult process, that's "Discipleship."
This is God's Three-Step Plan for humanity to have an eternal abundant life. At this point our salvation is complete. Our ultimate salvation includes, 1) being saved from the penalty of sin, called justification, received by His free Grace through faith alone in Christ alone, plus not one thing; 2) being saved from the power of sin called sanctification, received by faithful service and perseverance in suffering, and 3) being saved from the presence of sin, called glorification received at the end of life's faith journey with varying degrees. All believers (children of God) are glorified and receive an inheritance. Believers who faithfully serve and suffer with Christ (Sons of God) will receive, their full inheritance, a greater portion of God's inheritance, praise, honor, and exceeding glory, "for our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory" (2 Cor. 4:17). Faithful believers will receive additional opportunities and responsibilities to joyfully serve the Lord for all of eternity. So, "press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 3:14).
Jesus said, "Assuredly I say to YOU, he who believes in Me has everlasting life" (Jn. 6:47). Take the drink freely, my fellow sinner, and YOU shall have living water that will forever quench your soul! If you have believed for the first time, then there is nothing else for you to do, except thank God for His precious gift and enjoy it forever. Now you can begin the process of growth in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
